Townsfolk and Tourists,
Happy New Year’s Eve! (At least where I am. If you have already taken the plunge into the new year, I hope the water is warm) I hope this note finds all you dear readers well and ready to welcome 2022 with open arms! At least with a nice cuppa or glass of wine/champagne/mead/blood of your enemies.
The word that describes my 2021 has to be burnout. Like many people, I have been struggling to find that sweet balance between productivity and rest. I slipped into a massive book slump that lasted a solid four months, the only reading was picture books for my kiddo and closed captions.
AND YET,
There have been a fair amount of heavy things in the year, but I also want to take time to celebrate some positives!
- I ran my first half marathon (virtually)
- I ran a pedestrian path that linked a small town with my hometown (bucket list)
- My daughter turned 4 and is equal parts brilliant and aspiring super villain
- Mr. Bloom and I have managed to squeeze in some dates and a vacation where we didn’t travel to see family (only the second time)
- Started playing more video games and knitting again
- Celebrated 10 years of marriage
- Reread Murderbot series two times
- Embraced DNFing with wild abandon to help with the slump
Let's take a look at those stats:
