Billionaire Jenn Cooper has run her own movie studio for the last 3 years with the utmost success. Everything in her life has been easy due to the wealth and privilege she's been afforded. Ryan Price is a young and talented manager in Hollywood who represents up-and-coming starlet Julia Belle. What will happen when Price and Cooper try to collaborate on one of Hollywood's most promising stories to date? Let's just say that things in Hollywood never follow the script.

First and foremost, I thoroughly enjoyed the close look into all the moving parts of the movie industry from a production perspective. I loved that this contemporary romance had the heroine in a place of power. I’m sure it happens plenty, but I haven’t come across a female boss lead in a while and I thoroughly enjoyed the change in power structure. The steamy intimate scenes were well-written and enjoyable without getting too detailed. Ryan Price was enjoyable as a male lead that didn’t take the typical alpha route. His respect for Jenn was refreshing, though I wish we had seen more strength from Jenn.

Unfortunately, I did find my attention drifting more often than not during the book and I was unable to connect with the characters. I struggled with the third person POV, though that is just a reader quirk of mine that not everyone will have issues with. I wanted more background for the relationship. The sudden jump into the intimate relationship didn’t bother me so much but then we jumped forward in time, completely skipping the bulk of the foundation of the relationship. When Price suddenly professes love, I just sat for a minute wondering if maybe I had missed something thinking “isn’t this a bit sudden?” Rounding it all off with a creepy, smarmy villain and I was feeling disenchanted.

In the end, I liked the concept of the book but the execution didn’t work for me. I would give Reagan’s work another try in the future but this one didn’t work for me.
