Currently Reading
I’m currently reading How to Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie and it is darkly amusing so far. This was recommended to me by Storygraph and so far it is right up my alley! I was also approved for a couple of audio arcs this week and I started Jane Harper’s Exiles right away! Its a slower mystery but I’ve enjoyed each of the Aaron Falk books so far and I’m hopeful this will be just as enjoyable.
Recently Finished
My reading so far this year has been… underwhelming. Everything has been very “meh” or alright. Does It Hurt was the biggest let down, but I’ll still be reading more of their work. When Women Ruled the World was interesting but I had a tough time with the mystery and lack of hard evidence supporting ideas of researchers. Finally, Rhapsodic is my first physical book in over a year and I was definitely not as pleased with the latter half of the book. I’m on the fence regarding reading the rest of the series.
I’ll switch it up this week and hopefully I’ll have some winners!
What Will I Read Next?
Next up is The Kraken’s Sacrifice and I’m absolutely looking forward to it! Especially after reading Robert calling out the reviewers that complained about the lack of DP in The Dragon’s Bride. You can read my review on Goodreads here and see that I was definitely one of those whiners.
I’m also going to pick up my audio arc of The Angel Maker as soon as I finish Exiles. I really enjoyed The Shadows (review here) so this is on my anticipated mystery/thriller list!
