Top Ten Tuesday Top Ten IndieSelf-Published Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week you compile a list of ten books which coincide with that week’s theme. You can find everything you need to know about joining in here!

I’m always happy to shower admiration and recommend my favorite books on fellow readers. Especially when the books have been self-published! Indie / Self-published books have a special place in my cold heart so buckle up! Some of these have been highlighted on the blog before but will always deserve a shout out.

1

Helfyre by Mariel Pomeroy

The first book that popped in my head for top self-published book! Helfyre was absolutely delicious. Pomeroy’s dark romantasy absolutely captivated me from the first page. I have a gorgeous buttery paperback with the updated cover I’ve been badgering Mr. B to read it too. For science. It’s just a bonus that Mariel Pomeroy is tons of fun to follow on social media with great steamy book recommendations!

duckett-and-dyer-dicks-for-hire_nair

Duckett & Dyer! G.M. Nair is an auto-buy author for me at this point. I stumbled on his work after joining a blog tour and quickly fell in love with Stephanie and Michael’s shenanigans! You can read my review of book one here!

3

Cryptofauna by Patrick Canning

Another zany adventure, Cryptofauna is in my top ten self-published books. It is such a wild, nonsensical ride! I’ve enjoyed all of Patrick Canning’s books but Cryptofauna and Cryptonalia (Book 2) stand out. My full review can be read here!

4

A Dash of Romance by Paullett Golden

I’ve enjoyed all of Paullett Golden’s Enchantress novels, but A Dash of Romance was so much fun! Fake relationship between a second son and an on-the-shelf vicar’s daughter. It is far lighter than her other books and was just a sweet morsel of a novella followed by some “flash fiction” or short stories. Full review here!

5

Corrupt by Penelope Douglas

I’ve loved almost all the Penelope Douglas books I’ve read so far but Corrupt was wild and remains at the top of my favorites! I still need to read the rest of the series and that is a rabbit hole I’m hoping to go down in the later half of this year!

6

The Layover by Whitney G

If you are looking for a quick afternoon read with some spice Whitney G has you covered in The Layover!

I adored this quick steamy read and devoured it as fast as I could. Paris’s sarcasm and suspicion paired with Blake’s filthy mouth with a heavy dose of respect was exactly what I needed. I have daydreamed about jumping on a plane to anywhere, so this was a perfect reprieve from a long week! “I want your coffee” is still making me chuckle.

I want to complain about the length, but that ending was exactly what it needed to be!

7

Under Ordshaw by Phil Williams book cover

Out of this series, books two and three are my favorites but you have to read Under Ordshaw to get an idea of what is going on. It is definitely on the darker side of urban fantasy, I would even give it a small horror tag, but it was an intriguing story. Full review here!

8

Tangled in Tinsel by Trilina Pucci

If you are looking for a steamy, contemporary RH look no further! I picked up Tangled in Tinsel because Mariel Pomeroy recommended it while biting her lip and promising greatness. This why-choose absolutely delivered and I will also be doing a deep-dive in Pucci’s backlist!

9

The Risk by S.T. Abby

The Risk was wild and exceedingly dark. Female serial killer out for vengeance with the MMC being an FBI agent that is working the case. Fair warning: This book ends on a cliffhanger. I haven’t finished yet but absolutely plan on it!

10

100 Nights with the Duke by Jess Michaels

Looking for a steamy historical read with a courtesan and a delicious scene in the first 10% of the book? Jess Michaels has you covered. 100 Nights with the Duke is extremely sexy and with a whole lot of heart and angst. You can read my full review here, but believe me it is worth diving into!

Have you read any of these? What self-published books do you recommend?
