The Wine Book Tag

Townsfolk and Tourists,

We are mixing it up today because it is National Wine Day and I wanted to celebrate! I found today’s book tag after a quick google search for wine related book tags. Actually, there are not nearly as many as I expected and I think that is a bit of a tragedy. This little gem was created by Boho Bookworm over on BookTube

1. Box Wine - a book that people will judge you for liking but you like it anyway!

I haven’t read a book by Cynthia St. Aubin yet that I haven’t enjoyed but this series is seriously ridiculous in the best way. My husband likes to poke fun about the covers but I love St. Aubin’s sense of humor.

2. Organic Wine - a book that doesn't have any added crap in it and is just written perfectly.

Sarah Hunt’s Small Potatoes books never fail to bring me joy. She is very active on social media (@sarahhisfunny on instagram). If you are looking for a quick read with some amazing dry humor and wit then pick these up!

 3. Glühwein - a really spicy, wintry read.

Maybe This Christmas by Susannah Nix

So I don’t know about spicy, but this is one of my absolute favorite wintry reads! It is a super quick, cozy read. Though I will say, it takes place in a small town in Texas so I’m not sure they are going to be sporting full on winter gear.

 4. Sauvignon Blanc - a really sharp and aggressive read that you couldn't put down!

The Essence of Evil by Rob Sinclair Book Cover

I am maybe a tiny bit obsessed with DI Stephens. Sinclair had me hooked right from the start. The second book is amazing as well! This was definitely one of those books I couldn’t put down.

5. Pinot Noir - a book you didn't expect much from but ended up getting blown away!

Don't Read the Comments by Eric Smith Book Cover

I don’t read much young adult these days but I’m so glad Inkyard-HQN invited me to read and review Smith’s debut. This book made me laugh, cry, and rage. I can’t recommend this adorable, maybe a bit geeky, Contemporary YA (just a hint of romance.)

6. Chardonnay – a good summer read that was super zesty.

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren Book Cover

Without a doubt, The Unhoneymooners is one of my favorite summery reads. Of course, it helps that most of the setting is in Hawaii. I love love loved this enemies-to-lovers bonanza and will forever be Team Olive.

7. Rose - a book that has a little bit of everything in it.

A Bad Day for Sunshine by Darynda Jones Book Cover

I don’t think I can exaggerate how much I loved Sunshine and Auri. I had to convince myself not to pick it up immediately after finishing the ARC and I am now waiting on my audiobook hold. It has everything I wanted: witty mystery/thriller with the perfect blend of humor, angst, and a bit so romantical tension. Add in a dash of magical realism in a New Mexico setting and you have a recipe for an amazing book.

8. Shiraz - A full-bodied book that is dark and juicy

Book Cover Ruthless King by Meghan March

Mount is one of my absolute favorite anti-heroes, and this trilogy is still my favorite of March’s work. His brutality totally worked for this series. Bravo, Meghan!

9. Merlot - a smooth easy read with a soft finish

Things You Save in a Fire by Katherine Center

This was a book that took me by surprise. I hadn’t read Center’s work before but now I am hooked. I really want to be best friends with Cassie. Even better, my mother in law read it at the same time as me and we both enjoyed it!

10. Champagne - Your Favorite Book

Book Cover The Widow of Rose House by Diana Biller

Asking me to pick a favorite is cruel, but this delightful book always graces my top ten list. Sam is definitely a book boyfriend worth swooning for and I just ADORE his family. This is just such a cozy read complete with a mystery, historical romance (duh) and a hint of paranormal happenings. Just perfect!
