The Valentine's Day Book Tag

Townsfolk,

It has been a hot minute since I’ve done a book tag so it is time to mix it up! I found today’s book tag on The Awkward Book Blogger. Make sure to check out her blog and answers!

The creator of this tag is CC’s Books on BookTube. I tried to find the original video but it looks like it isn’t available anymore… or I’m just really bad at this. This version has been floating around for a couple years.

1. Stand-alone Book You Love

Things You Save in a Fire by Katherine Center

Alright so this might be a partner book for How to Walk Away but I haven’t read that one yet so I’m going to treat Things You Save in a Fire as a stand-alone. It was such an inspiring read and a cute romance to boot!

2. Dystopian Book You Love

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

One of my all-time favorite quotes from high school was because of this strange book!

“Did he kill her or have sex with her? Because to be honest, I can’t tell”

3. A Book That You Love But No One Else Talks About

Cryptofauna by Patrick Canning

Cryptofauna was one of my favorite Indie reads of 2019. It is so delightfully weird and I really wish Patrick Canning would write a sequel.

4. Favorite Book Couple

Kate and Curran from Ilona Andrews’ Kate Daniels series. I will never not love these two even if Curran was on my shit list during a big part of book six!

5. Book That Other People Love But You Haven’t Read Yet

Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I have heard so much positive buzz and hype about this one! I picked it up at a library sale around two weeks after release (50c!  SCORE!) but I just haven’t gotten around to it…. I also won the publisher’s give away so I have the audiobook for it and some CUTE Union Jack and Star Spangled socks that I will have to wear while listening.

6. A Book with Red on the Cover

Magic for Liars by Sarah Gailey

Another book from my TBR! I actually have both the physical copy and audiobook for Magic for Liars but I haven’t managed to get around to it. Definitely this year though!

7. A Book with Pink on the Cover

Island of the Sequined Love Nun by Christopher Moore

I had to pick this one! It has been sitting listlessly waiting for me to listen to it for at least a year… naughty.

8. You were given a box of chocolates. What fictional boyfriend/girlfriend would given them to you?

The Queens Gambit by Jessie Mihalik Book Cover

Valentin from The Queen’s Gambit

9. You are single on Valentine’s Day. What book would you read? What TV show would you watch? What movie would you watch?

Immortal in Death by JD Robb ♥  Grace and Frankie  ♥  I’d probably listen to a podcast instead (Crime in Sports or Small Town Murder)

10. You are in the book store. All of a sudden you get shot with an arrow by Cupid. What new release will you love?

King of Lies by Whitney G

I’ve said it before but I would read a re-imagining of the phone book from Whitney G and love it. She is absolutely one of my auto-buy authors!

That’s a wrap, Townsfolk!

I tag you all! Let me know if you do it because I would love to see your answers!

  1. I need to read Red, White & Royal Blue too! Everyone has been raving about it so much that I thought I was the only one who hasn’t read it yet. Also, 50 cents on a new release is an amazing find! It seems I need to check out my library’s sales more often XD

There are too many books to keep up with! And it was such a great find! I almost tripped in my effort to rush to the counter to pay 😂
