Monthly Wrap Up April 2022

Friends, we have almost made it to May! April was very busy for our household. Some big wins on the non-reading side and some lows (farewell, running streak). Those lows translated into less reading time and more time on the phone coordinating appointments for our daughter. We took a road trip to visit family and are finally just starting to settle in with regular days. I took a week off of marathon training to reset and I’m hoping it doesn’t come back to bite me in the last 7-8 weeks! But on to the bookish:

Most of my reading through April felt unbelievably slow! I managed ten books and while that is certainly a healthy number, I had 3 or 4 books that I started reading in March that I finished in April. After a couple of mediocre books, I did manage to read some great (not five stars but still great) books.

I read my second Fredrik Backman book, A Man Called Ove, through audio and a little bit of a physical copy (a huge win for me!) and I’ve continued my obsession with G.M. Nair’s Duckett and Dyer. I only have two books left to have read all of Jessie Mihalik’s books; including an ARC of her upcoming Eclipse the Moon that I’m super excited for!

On the blogging side, I had a setback with a post series I started drafting about books that are on my library wish list. Apparently, my primary library deleted all books on my list so I’m having to rebuild with lots of moans, groans, and wine. I hope to have them going again soon!
