When her beloved older brother is killed in combat, Ruby follows her heart and answers the Army Signal Corps’ call for women operators to help overseas.

Yesterday, I decided to start reading Girls on the Line by Aimie K. Runyan that I won in a Goodreads Giveaway after finally finishing a regency romance that took longer than should be necessary to finish. So far I am loving Ruby and her courage to join the Army Signal Corps. I am only 25% into this novel and I already know I will be reading more of her work in the future.

Erb’s favorite this week is Your Baby’s First word will be DADA by Jimmy Fallon. Like most kids, she adores animals and when her Dad imitates them. It is a silly book that is a great learning opportunity for animals and their sounds. The blurb on the back of the book says Mr. Fallon’s efforts to influence his daughter’s first word were met with failure. Erb’s first word was very clearly DaDa and she continues to babble sentences with “da” and has recently started sounding more conversational. Hopefully, reading the same board books over and over are helping!
