 Just friends.

We're just friends. No, really. She's just my best friend...

Arizona Turner has been my best friend since fourth grade, even when we "hated" each other. We've been there for one another through first kisses, first "times," and we've been each other's constant when good relationships turned bad. (We even went to colleges that were minutes away from each other...)

Throughout the years, and despite what anyone says, we've never crossed the line.

Never thought about it. Never wanted to.

Until one night changed everything. At least, it should've ...Just friends. We're just friends. I'm only saying this until I figure out if she's still "just" my best friend...

This was definitely a cute, quick read and started off my Romanceopoly challenge on the right note. I love Whitney G’s other work, my favorites to date are Reasonable Doubt and Naughty Boss, and like the others I have read Sincerely, Carter was well-written and engaging. Character wise, Carter was the fantastic, swoon-worthy and all-around great guy we love to swoon after. Arizona was an average character for me. My opinion of her shifted dramatically as I read.

What I loved most was the flashback emails/texts/notes between those two. It really showed glimpses of how their relationship formed and adapted as they grew older. It really made me laugh out loud when the janitor stumbled on them.

Lower on the steam compared to the other books I’ve read, but definitely still worthy of a light-blush. Well, for one scene anyway.

So why not 4 or 5 stars? It all comes down to personal preference. I struggled with the quick shift from friends to lovers but maybe that is normal for the trope? I don’t read a ton of friends-to-lovers as I haven’t found one that has truly blown me away. Most of all though, I didn’t love Arizona’s actions in the last 40% and it kinda wrapped up a bit fast for me (after I spent 20 % internally berating her).

In the end, I still adore Whitney G and I WILL read whatever she puts out. Including just a re-imagining of the phone book. Definitely pick this book up if you are looking for a new adult, friends to lovers trope filled with cute moments and maybe some infuriating choices.
