I picked up Art & Grace off of KU after receiving a review request from the author. I’ll start by saying that this was a fun read, but if you have trouble with suspension of disbelief then you might want to sit this particular book out. Georgie is searching for a condemned man to be her husband and then make her a widow to prevent fortune hunters from forcing a scandal/marriage deal. I’ll admit, Lilith had me worried in the beginning. She is just as bullheaded as her brother Sebastian (from |The Earl and the Enchantress|) and I have a rather contentious relationship with him. I liked Lilith well enough but her inability to look beyond her own skewed world view was awfully frustrating.
The Duke and the Enchantress picks up where the happily ever after for Drake and Charlotte ended in the first book in the series, The Earl and the Enchantress. I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t looking forward to this particular story. I didn’t care for Charlotte in the first book and would have been happy to condemn her to a loveless marriage since she appeared to be dead set on obtaining a title through marriage.
I enjoyed reading this story featuring Lizbeth and Sebastian. The two meet in a library during a ball and despite a tense initial interaction, they bond over their mutual distaste for marriage and love of books.
