Reader Problems Book Tag

Townsfolk and Tourists,

I’m easing my way back into blogging! I found today’s book tag after a quick google search and I was quickly drawn to this Reader Problems Book Tag from 2015 that I spotted over on The Book Nut.

1. You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?

I am very much a mood reader, but sometimes I don’t even pick from my TBR. I’ll just troll about my library’s Overdrive and look for a cover or synopsis that catches my fancy.

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?

These days I tend to put the books down. I don’t want to risk throwing myself into another massive book and blogging slump.

 3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?

I am at the point where I just don’t rush to catch up. However, before I took a break from challenges, I would usually switch to novella length books to knock prompts out.

 4. The covers of a series you love do not match, how do you cope?

I get incredibly cranky. I understand the need to slap a fresh coat of paint so to speak but its still maddening. I’m lucky that the majority of my library is “filled” with ebooks and yet when I go looking for a specific book and find it “hiding” behind a new cover it makes me grouchy.

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

I don’t have a lot of reading buddies but usually I’ll scope out reviews of a similar star rating that I’ve given.

6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?

I don’t read in public much anymore but when I do, I’ll usually stop reading and wait until I’m home/in private.

7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?

I absolutely would reread! I’ve been known to reread an entire series too before picking up the newest addition. In fact, I do this with the Murderbot Series.

8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?

This is where having an ebook library totally works out as most of my reads aren’t shareable.

9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?

This is absolutely my reading life right now. Lately, I’ve been skulking about my library’s overdrive looking through my wish list or just perusing the catalog. Again, sometimes I will pick up novellas to get back in the groove.

10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?

Maybe one? I heavily rely on my library cards since tightening up our budget. If it comes on sale I may snag them though!

11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?

This all depends on how  much I’m reading and if I’m in a mood for a particular genre. I have one that I bought that I still haven’t gotten around to 3 years later. Oops.
