Monthly Wrap Up April 2020

Townsfolk and Tourists!

I hope this post finds you all safe, healthy, and not too stir-crazy!  April lasted about 500 years and I’m still a little shocked it is time to write this wrap up! Thanks to lock down measures and Mr. B being gone half the month, I’ve had to be extra creative in ways to keep Erb busy with varying ranges of success. I was so tired of reading the same books to her that I put in an “emergency order” for a couple 5 Minute story collections and now she is obsessed with the first two stories from the Daniel Tiger one.

Distinctly not “Grrr-riffic.”

On to new bookish acquisitions! I picked up a handful of historical romance novels after watching one of the HR panels for the Social Distancing Book Fest. You can watch the panel on Melissa’s book-tube |Probablyatthelibrary|. Melissa was a fantastic hostess and I’m looking forward to tuning into her tea chat on youtube today! I also picked up one of Annika Martin’s MM books I’ve been meaning to read and I’m really excited about it! I need to finish up some of my outstanding ARCs before I can dive in though…

Overall, this was a fantastic reading month spurred on by very little sleep thanks to anxiety, transitioning Erb to a toddler bed, and the start of the month being stacked with some great books. Some of the books in April are under 170 pages (all the Murderbots for instance) so they went extra quick. Next month I’m going to try to read LESS and write more because I am horrifically behind on reviews which means I will be bringing back the mini-reviews to catch up!

Enough of the business! Let’s get to this month’s highlights.

I just popped over to read the blurb for Credence and that sounds fantastic! Sounds heavy and steamy with a healthy dose of taboo. *adding to tbr* Thank you for sharing!

Oh, I hope you enjoy Murderbot! I absolutely adore the series. I’m really looking forward to Network Effect!

  1. Great post! My son, now 10yo, loved Daniel Tiger when he was a baby. I don’t know which show was worse, Daniel Tiger or Thomas and Friends. 😂🤣What a great book selection. Lisa Kleypas’ Wallflowers series is one of my favorites.

I’m really lucky that she is stuck on Shaun the Sheep right now! I refuse to allow Barney or Thomas because I can’t handle repeats of those 😂
